When The (Writing) Magic Happens

I started writing a post for this space yesterday and it morphed into something stronger and magical and beyond what I thought I could write. So I sat back and reached out to my community before I posted it.

Rarely do I write anything that I feel that strongly about.

I shared it with a friend over email. She wrote back:

“OMG!! This gave me chills! It’s perfect …”

I texted another friend, Will you read something?

“Yes, send my way.”

Five minutes later my phone rang.

“This is the best thing I’ve read of yours. Delete this one line and send it out.”

I wrote it in 30 minutes, straight through, no breaks.

She said, “It’s perfect because you didn’t overthink it.”

And I think she’s right.

Who knows where it will end up. I may spend weeks and months sending it this way and that way. But when it finds a home, you’ll be the first to know, even if it’s here.
